YES, we strongly recommend appointments to come in and try on dresses. When you make an appointment, we reserve a fitting room for you. We also make sure you have one of our expert Bridal Consultants available to answer any questions you may have, and to assist you with trying on the gowns. Without an appointment, if we happen to be busy when you come to pay us a visit, you may not have a fitting room available or a Bridal Consultant to help you. So it is always better to make an appointment to try on Wedding Gowns, Bridesmaids, Mother's Dresses, Prom, etc. to make sure that you get the attention you deserve.
The average time for orders is 15-16 weeks plus shipping of 1-2 weeks. This is standard for all Wedding Gowns and Bridesmaids Dresses. Not to mention, on top of ordering time you will need an additional 3-4 weeks for alterations, depending upon what type of dress you are purchasing. We really require that all dresses be ordered AT LEAST 6 months prior to the wedding date. This is to eliminate certain issues that can arise when ordering dresses too close to the wedding date. Some dresses are available sooner. Certain Mothers desginers, flower girls, and prom designers do have dresses in stock. Therefore, with specific designers, ordering time is much quicker (for example 4-5 weeks). It really depends on the manufacuturers, who determine our delivery dates.
There are also other options if you do need a dress sooner than the normal ordering time. Most manufacturers do offer Rush Orders, which are available at an additional fee. This will cut the ordering down by a few weeks, depending on the designer. Also, customers are more then welcome to purchase a dress off-the-rack. We are frequently selling dresses from our stock for customers who do not have time to place an order. For more information about ordering times, ask a representative for more details.
At Joanna's, we are constantly getting non-local orders. This is something we deal with very often. After the bride approves a style for the bridesmaids, we can open the order and get all the bridesmaids information. All your bridesmaid needs to do, if they are unable to pay us a visit at our store, is go to a seamstress or tailor near them and get their measurements taken. They can then give us a call during business hours, and give us their measurements so we can discuss sizing options. Also, they pay for their dresses over the phone. We do offer shipping of the dresses to the bridesmaids, at an additional fee, after the dresses come in from the manufacturers.
No, the dresses are NOT made according to your measurements that we take at the time of placing the order. The manufacturers each have their own sizing charts and sizes are different with each designer. We take your measurements to see, according to their charts, what size you best fit. So we help you choose your size, according to the manufacuturers sizing charts. Then, after the dresses come in, you have the option of getting your dresses altered to better fit you.
YES- we can order dresses from any of our designer lines, even if we do not carry them in stock. However, we cannot always order dresses from designer lines that we do not carry in our store. To see lists of featured designers, feel free to look through our Collections Tabs on the Right side our website. For more information about ordering, feel free to ask one of our Bridal Constultants.
Yes. The designers do have options when it comes to colors. Most dresses are available in several different colors. Wedding gowns are mostly available in White, an Off-White shade, and sometimes even a Champagne color (depending on the designer). Bridesmaids do have a very wide variety of color options. Mothers dresses are available in other colors as well. We do have the color swatches available for customers to see when deciding what color they would like to order the dresses in. And of course all dresses are available in a wide range of sizes.
